Cry From the Deep #magpietale #poetry

Release me from this eternal pain

a woman once

shunned by a man

he incarcerated me in this watery existence

Free me from this cold existence

I breathed the air once

walked the fertile green earth

place me in the ground

Unshackle me

leave my hands

to lie peacefully

by my side

Thanks to Tess Kincaid of Magpie Tales for the watery picture prompt.

To be trapped like that by a man is indeed a cold existence.

nice…i like the intensity in this…and the desire for at least a bit of freedom…that opening stanza is quite the gripper…

  6. Wow. This is really good. I see we interpreted the image in a similar way. The final line is awesome…”leave my hands to lie peacefully by my side.” Thanks and thanks for visiting me.

Oh, very sad. The photo definitely has a cry-of-pain aspect, and also a sense of legend, which your poem conveys. K.
